Take a step back in time & see what Florida looked like centuries ago… I’m not talking about going to a museum, but a special place just outside Punta Gorda, Florida, you can visit personally to witness the natural, untamed side of our state ~ The Babcock Ranch Preserve.  Part of this property is still a working ranch & the remainder is protected wilderness.

Babcock Wilderness Adventures offers tours where you will visit 4 different ecosystems & find yourself face to face with wildlife in an old Florida setting!  You will also get a tour of the 100 year old working cattle ranch & there are plenty of stops to take pictures.  The narrated tour is 90 minutes on an open air camouflage bus.  The tour guides are very informative & will give you lots of insight on the history, as well as pointing out all of the wildlife, flora & fauna along the way.  You will even visit a Cypress Swamp.  You will see beautiful vegetation, all sorts of birds, alligators, maybe some deer… also keep your eyes open, this is one of the few places you might still see a Florida Panther!

Have a bite at the Gator Shack Restaurant, see the Museum, featuring Florida history, ranch operations, plus natural history artifacts & check out the souvenir shop.
