The police department in Punta Gorda, FL wants seasonal and vacationing residents to know that they are looking after them. When enrolled in the Punta Gorda Police Department “Away From Home Program”, more than 60 of the department’s volunteer force will conduct basic home security checks. This is not intended to substitute for normal home security systems and actions but to add an additional degree of security and confidence when an owner is away.
