One of the best ways to tour Boca Grande, FL on Gasparilla Island is by bicycle! The island boasts a beautifully landscaped 6.5 mile paved trail, that is known to the locals as the “Boca Grande Bike Trail”.

On the north end of the trail, there are many breath taking overlooks of Gasparilla Sound & the stunning blue waters. If you keep your eyes open, you may even get to see an iguana or a gopher tortoise! Just south of the midway point of the trail, you will reach central Boca Grande, with it’s fine dining & upscale shopping. (If you time this right, you can be there for lunch!) On the Southern end of the trail, you will find the Gasparilla Island State Park, with its white powder sand beaches, turquoise water & historic lighthouse. If you didn’t see it on the way South, be sure to ask someone on the island where Banyan Street is…. it is a street not to miss on the island and a beautiful ride. You should also check out Whidden Marina & the Fishing Pier while you are there!

Bring your bike, or rent one when you get there…. get some exercise and visit a piece of Old Florida.. you will be glad you did!
