A company called Affordable Bio Feedstock Inc. and Charlotte County Utilities have joined forces in a new grease recycling facility at the Charlotte County East Port Water Reclamation Facility.
According to their website, ABF was incorporated in 2008 and is based in Kissimmee, FL. The company specializes in the recycling of grease trap waste from restaurants and food service establishments to produce animal feed and biofuel such as biodiesel.
The company invented a process called “thermal depolymerization” to separate the contents of brown grease. This process can reduce clogging at waste treatment plants and provide valuable recycled materials.
The company plans to open other similar facilities throughout Florida, bringing with it many new jobs while protecting our resources and environment.
