Charlotte County is a growing region that will have a projected population of 177,800 by the year 2010. That’s an increase of over 20,000 residents from the latest census.
According to a recent article in the Charlotte Sun-Herald, single family home permits are 32% higher than they were last year at this time and commercial permits are more than ten percent higher than last year’s numbers.
Yes, it is growing fast, however there is not a big city atmosphere anywhere in the county. It boasts pristine wooded areas and open countryside as well as magnificent beaches and waterfront. The area continues on its trends, as evidenced by the statistics. It’s a wonderful place in which to settle, work or retire.
